Church of the Advent of Christ the King is an historic Anglo-Catholic parish of the Episcopal Diocese of California, which is part of the Anglican Communion of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
There are a multitude of opportunities for Christian service at Church of the Advent. Listed below is a selection of the ministries we offer:
The Acolytes assist at the Masses on Sundays and weekdays. They may bear torches, carry the crucifix or incense, serve as subdeacon or master of ceremonies, or assist the celebrant at low Masses. Acolytes must be communicants in good standing.
Fr Paul Allick
The Altar Guild makes the material preparations for services at the altar. Members clean and care for the sacred vessels, maintain and set out the vestments and linens, and put these items away after Masses. Most of the work is done on Saturdays and Sundays. Members must be communicants in good standing.
Regina Coeli Cell of the Society of Our Lady of Walsingham
The Regina Coeli Cell of the Society of Our Lady of Walsingham is part of an international devotional society whose principal ministry is intercessory prayer and promotion of Catholic devotion to Mary. Members pray daily according to requests from parishioners and meet quaterly to pray the Rosary and participate in a Mass for the Holy House of Walsingham.
The Ushers welcome and seat people at services, hands out worship materials, takes the offering, and tidies up the church after everyone leaves.
