Through the year we have regular opportunities for people to explore more about their faith, usually on Sundays after High Mass and often with a light luncheon.
Facilitator: Fr. Paul Burrows and our Lay and Clergy leadership
The resurrection of Jesus heralds a new creation that exists alongside the world that is. How do we live as people of the resurrection? What can we do to make present the new world order that is and yet is not seen? These will be the questions that we will examine during this Pascal-tide as we look to how we can bring the Good News to those around us.
Our first class on May 15 will be a general overview of living in the tension of two worlds side by side; the Kingdom of God here and now and the kingdom of this world where most do not recognize or see God's rule. We will also consider how the Church has had a hard time rising above the kingdom of this world and living the Kingdom of God.
On May 22 we will look at how our bodies are one of the ways we live into a posture of worship. How do we sit, stand, kneel, in ways that full express our life in the Kingdom of God? We will move into Church for part of this exercise to practice how to bow, genuflect, and cross ourselves as well as looking at how these things work in our worship.
On May 29 we will be preparing for the first Deacon's Fare of 2011 and so will talk about how this feeding of our neighbors is so much a part of living as Easter People.
On June 5 the Altar Guild invite us all to handle Holy Things in the sacristy so that we can all be a part of the important work of preparing our church for the worship of heaven that we participate in each week.
