The Acolytes assist at the Masses on Sundays and weekdays. They may bear torches, carry the crucifix or incense, serve as subdeacon or master of ceremonies, or assist the celebrant at low Masses. Acolytes must be communicants in good standing.
The Altar Guild makes the material preparations for services at the altar. Members clean and care for the sacred vessels, maintain and set out the vestments and linens, and put these items away after Masses. Most of the work is done on Saturdays and Sundays. Members must be communicants in good standing.
The Flower Guild buys and arranges the flowers for Sunday services. The members usually work individually, taking a turn no more than once a month.
The Intercessors, Chalice Bearers and Oblationers serve a variety of roles at Solemn Masses. Intercessors offer the Prayers of the People, chalice bearers administer the chalice at low and Solemn Masses, and oblationers bring the gifts of bread and wine to the altar.
One of our volunteer priests together with volunteers from the congregation and CDSP and often with Friars from the Society of St. Francis go to the Episcopal Sanctuary, a homeless shelter run by Episcopal Community Services, to offer Mass on Sundays at 8:30 a.m.
The Regina Coeli Cell of the Society of Our Lady of Walsingham is part of an international devotional society whose principal ministry is intercessory prayer and promotion of Catholic devotion to Mary. Members pray daily according to requests from parishioners and meet monthly to pray the Rosary and participate in a Mass for the Holy House of Walsingham.
The Ushers welcome and seat people at services, hands out worship materials, takes the offering, and tidies up the church after everyone leaves.
