A brief background of Father Burrows
The Reverend Paul Anthony Burrows, came to us in February, 2001
from the Diocese of Iowa, where he served from 1995 as Canon Residentiary at The Cathedral Church of Saint Paul in Des Moines. Father Burrows also served as Priest-in-Charge of St. Mark's, Des Moines.
Previously, Father Burrows served as the Rector of Saint Barnabas Church, Oxon Hill, Maryland, as well as various activities in the Diocese of Washington and at Washington National Cathedral.
Further, he was Vicar of Saint Luke and All Saints' Church, Union, New Jersey. Before coming to the United States, in 1985, Father Burrows held
several posts at churches in London, Surrey and Hampshire, England. Father Burrows holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of
Nottingham, England, attended seminary at Saint Stephen's House in Oxford, England, and holds a Master's degree in Sacred Theology from The General Theological Seminary, New York. He was ordained
Priest in the Church of England by the Bishop of Southwark in June, 1980, and received into the Episcopal Church, USA in August, 1986.
Additionally, Father Burrows holds several religious affiliations, including Oblate of Elmore Abbey, Speen, Newbury, England, Priest
Associate of The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, Life Member of The Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and Priest Associate of The Community of Saint John the Baptist.
Father Burrows was formally installed as the 28th Rector of Church of the Advent of Christ the King by The Right Reverend William Swing, Bishop of California, Sunday, April 29, 2001.
