Our concert on February 16, 2008 was the last of the Third Sunday Series recitals presented by the Advent Music Foundation. For the past three years these recitals have been a qualified success. While the music itself has been consistently excellent, attendance has fluctuated much as the indicators on our fuel gauges—from empty to full and various levels in between. In any case, the concerts do not pay for themselves and present an unacceptable drain on our narrowing budget. In the coming months we will hire a new permanent music director and step up our efforts to raise funds to support an outreach ministry that features the emphasis on superb music for which our parish is justly renowned. Just how that will be structured will depend on the creativity and support of the music ministry and members of the parish.
